(New Albany, Ohio) The New Albany Community Foundation will host performances and gatherings throughout the summer in the stunning Charleen & Charles Hinson Amphitheater. Through the generosity of its donors, the Foundation has developed and will present a Performance Series, Free “Family Flicks Nights” and the “Amp Up the Arts” Benefit.

The Hinson Amphitheater, a new performance venue and community gathering space located in the heart of New Albany, will provide an intimate audience experience featuring award-winning performers and films.

Dedicated in Fall 2021, the Hinson Amphitheater was made by possible through public private partnerships in the same collaborative approach that led to the development of the New Albany Branch Library, the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts and the Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany. Located at 170 W. Granville Street, the amphitheater is situated along the Rose Run Park Corridor and is contiguous to the New Albany School campus.

“What better way to enjoy a Midwest summer than gathering together under the stars and experiencing the joy of quality, live performances and heartwarming family films?” said Craig Mohre, President of The New Albany Community Foundation. “With the support of our donors and sponsors, we are offering a wide variety of programs from national and regional artists who will entertain and inspire our audiences throughout the season.”

Background on the Charleen & Charles Hinson Amphitheater

New Albany planners have envisioned an outdoor amphitheater for more than 20 years. In 2012, The New Albany Community Foundation launched an effort to build the amphitheater in the emerging cultural district in the heart of New Albany’s historic village center, along the Rose Run Park Corridor and near the Market Street district. The amphitheater location also is part of the school campus, next to The Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts. The amphitheater follows the same public and private collaboration model as The McCoy, which debuted in 2008 and today hosts hundreds of school and community events each year.

The amphitheater is owned by the City of New Albany and was made possible through the generosity of these public partners and donors:
