NEW ALBANY SCHOOLS EXTRA-CURRICULAR SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In 2014, when financial pressures forced the school district to implement higher participation fees for extra-curricular activities, a handful of New Albany families established a scholarship fund at the Foundation to help students in need. Their generosity ensured that all students had access to extra-curricular activities. The scholarships were administered by the school district to ensure confidentiality.
“We remain grateful to the compassion demonstrated by members of our community and their willingness to answer the call for support for our students when financial need is demonstrated. Thanks to their generosity, we ensure that all students have the opportunity to actively participate in any school activity requiring a fee for participation.”
– Michael Sawyers, Superintendent, New Albany-Plain Local School District
