COVID-19 UPDATES

A message from The New Albany Community Foundation

Published April 1, 2020

Dear Friends,

During these challenging times, we are heartened by the response coming from New Albany leaders, organizations and citizens. Most especially, we appreciate how we take care of our neighbors. The response to this adversity underscores that our community knows how to come together. We share concern for family, friends and neighbors across central Ohio as well. Toward that end and through support from its donors, the New Albany Community Foundation responded quickly to do the following:

• Expedited a $10,000 grant to the New Albany Food Pantry in support of its efforts to respond to families in need.

• Awarded a $10,000 grant to New Albany Schools to provide resources to directly support student learning and individual student needs to protect the safety and welfare of our children during the COVID-19 health crisis.

• Provided a $20,000 grant to The COVID-19 Fund of The Columbus Foundation, which is supporting a number of initiatives aimed at helping the most vulnerable throughout central Ohio.

In the days and weeks ahead we will continue to monitor ways in which we can support our community. Thank you for understanding the postponement of the May 7th Jefferson Series program. We will let you know as soon as we can the new date for that program.

In the meantime, please join us in abiding by Governor DeWine’s directives. Stay safe and be well.

Sincerely,

Lynne Smith
Board Chair
